Prime Minister’s message on the International Day of UN Peacekeepers

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given the following message on the occasion of International Day of UN Peacekeepers on 29 May-2019 :

“I am very happy to know that ‘International Day of UN Peacekeepers-2019’ is being observed in Bangladesh like elsewhere in the world. On this occasion, I convey my heartiest congratulations and felicitations to all Bangladeshi Peacekeeping members. I solemnly pray for the salvation of the departed souls of those heroic peacekeepers who made their supreme sacrifice for the cause of peace. I also convey my heartfelt sympathy to their bereaved family members.

Bangladesh is one of the largest troops-contributing nations in UN Peacekeeping missions. The Bangladeshi Peacekeepers have been working relentlessly to establish peace and harmony in various conflict zones in the world. They are highly praised worldwide for their high standard of professionalism, devoted service, hard work, dedication and courage for the establishment of world peace and harmony.

I, on behalf of the government and the people of Bangladesh, assure my full support to the United Nations Peacekeeping operations for establishing and safeguarding world peace. I hope Bangladeshi Peacekeepers will contribute more in the future with their highest standard of professionalism, efficiency and sincerity.

I wish the ‘International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers-2019’ a grand success.
